Voices of Old

Voices of Old is not an audiobook service. It is a different way to experience the stories that built civilization. Every title features a full voice cast performing each character, with every word on screen illuminated in sync with the narration. You read along as you listen, watching the text come alive line by line.

We choose only the greatest literary epics: works that have shaped cultures, inspired religions, defined languages, and endured for millennia. Each one receives the same painstaking treatment: faithful public-domain translations, carefully cast voices, synchronized word-by-word highlighting, and a reading experience designed to make ancient stories feel immediate.

These poems were never meant to sit silently on a page. Homer composed for listeners. Virgil read aloud to Augustus. Dante shaped the Italian language through the music of his verse. The oral tradition that created these works is the tradition we are restoring, with tools their authors could not have imagined but would have recognized instantly.
